A series of poster zines that imagines how the different working-class South Africans or would look like in the future. This project aims to use Afrofuturism to give recognition to the undervalued essential workers.

I merged historical African symbols and writing systems from Saki Mafundikwa’s book called ‘African Alphabets: The story of writing in Afrika’ (2007), with technological advancements to imagine a better future for the people in the working-class communities, be they Ntombi who is a domestic worker, Moses, the guy who mows your garden or Jabu, the security guard.
